Young People

For those who recognise the need for change and a commitment to doing something about it.

Through outdoor adventure, vocational experiences & involvement in the community, we can help build your ability to succeed, develop connection in your life and find the motivation to get back on track.

We spend plenty of time outdoors, learning skills which can be difficult to learn in the classroom. It's often a good circuit breaker and provides you with lots of opportunities to have fun, succeed and learn what you're really capable of.

If you’re interested, get in touch with us through your school (Year level coordinator or SWC) and they’ll help you with an application. You'll need to find out which program runs in your area, so check out the program's webpage to find out. Then you can access each program's own website and get more detailed information.

Parents & Guardians

If you think that one of the Newstart programs would be a fit for your young person, please get in touch with wellbeing or year level coordinators at your school. We accept referrals from schools and they're the one's best situated to help with your application.

From the initial application, to supporting them through their daily challenges, to celebrating their successes; parental/guardian support plays a very important part in all Newstart programs. The expectations and commitments for parents & guardians supporting their young people through Newstart programs are specified by individual programs.

If you're looking for more information to guide your decisions, please check out our reading list or contact individual programs for more specific information on each program.

Schools & Teachers

All Operation Newstart programs are managed by experienced registered teachers and qualified youth workers who work closely with schools to provide meaningful outcomes for all of the young people participating in Newstart programs.

We acknowledge the importance of school for these young people and of course the teachers and support staff who guide them through their education.

If you're a teacher or school staff member looking for more information about the program, please check out our reading list or contact individual programs for more specific information.
